PM Narendra Modi commends Chennai on incorporation in UNESCO Creative Cities list, says pleased minute for India



Head administrator Narendra Modi saluted the general population of Chennai today on their city's incorporation in the Creative Cities system of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization, or UNESCO.

"Chennai's commitment to our rich culture is valuable. This is a pleased minute for India," the Prime Minister's Office tweeted.

Chennai, one of the 64 urban communities assigned as UNESCO Creative Cities a month ago, was decided for its commitment to music. Different urban areas included Cairo (Egypt), Cape Town (South Africa), Manchester (UK), and Milan (Italy).

Specialists of national prestige go to the Tamil Nadu funding to perform amid its music season in December and January. The center of a flourishing motion picture industry, Chennai is likewise home to some of India's most prominent music authors and playback artists.

This is what Prime Minister Modi and Defense Minister Nirmala Sitharaman - who's from Tamil Nadu - needed to say in regards to Chennai's consideration in the UNESCO list.

The UN says the Creative Cities Network was "made in 2004 to advance participation with and among urban areas that have recognized innovativeness as a key factor for economical urban improvement."
